Meet the Graduates

MARC Community Resources started a Project SEARCH Program in partnership with Middlesex Health Hospital in September 2022. Project SEARCH, an international internship program, was developed at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 1996 by Erin Riehle and Susie Rutkowski. This program consists of three rotations, during which individuals with developmental disabilities develop transferable skills and explore different career opportunities in an active business setting.

Interns rotated through departments such as Food Services, BioMed/Clinical Engineering, Linen, Environmental Services, Gift Shop, Materials Management, Physical Rehab, Patient Transport, and CCU/Respiratory. This fall, even more departments will host interns.

We proudly announce that all seven interns underwent the application and interview processes and are now all Middlesex Health employees. Congratulations to our first Project SEARCH interns:

  • Nick Gibertoni- Patient Transport
  • Ricky Fabian- Linen
  • Anthony Palaia- Food Services
  • Crystal Reid- Environmental Services
  • Ben Szymanski- Materials Management
  • Brianna Stange- Food Services
  • Our 7th intern is working in Linen
