Dream Makers

We are pleased to announce the award of two grants; $5,000 from the Thomas J. Atkins Memorial Trust fund and $2,000 from the George A. and Grace L. Long Foundation. These grants will help fund our Adult Skill Development and Leisure Program.

This long-running program for people with intellectual and development disabilities (I/DD) is instrumental in creating community inclusion for people with I/DD. The program has pivoted to virtual programming during the pandemic and discovered that this new format made new and exciting experiences for people with I/DD.

“They’re learning how to use technology and finding new interests. They’ve joined a book club for the first time and are playing trivia,” said Linda Iovanna, CEO/President of MARC.

These friends are enjoying their first-ever, virtual book club.

“Many have grown more confident and are more engaged when online. We are excited to foster these new successes when we transition back to community-based programs,” she added.

Amid a period of significant challenges and the community’s growing needs, we are immensely grateful for our supporters’ generosity. Their kindness and compassion will empower our community for years to come.
